Siobhan Briley is a trial lawyer, and she uses her extensive trial experience to guide her as she advises clients through all stages of litigation. Because she assesses every case with an eye toward the evidence she must put before a jury or a judge and the record she must present to an appellate panel to maximize her clients’ chances for success, she consistently achieves favorable results not only in court but outside of court, as well—saving clients time and money and minimizing the stressful experience of bringing or defending a lawsuit. Siobhan spent a significant part of her career litigating high-stakes cases in New York, N.Y. and Washington, D.C., before transplanting to Iowa in 2015. She litigates, tries, and appeals cases in state and federal courts throughout Iowa and nationwide, she arbitrates before FINRA, AAA, and JAMS, and she regularly mediates cases, frequently to successful resolution. She has argued appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Eight Circuit, and Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. In 2022, she was elected as a Fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Siobhan has litigated and tried cases involving a wide range of subjects and issues, but primarily handles business and commercial litigation, employment law and litigation, real estate litigation, probate litigation, bankruptcy litigation, financial services litigation, and appeals. She has a knack for connecting with her clients, judges, and juries, and she excels at learning, analyzing, and understanding complex issues quickly and efficiently. Siobhan is always interested in learning more and is active in local and national bar associations and legal organizations, through which she has built a network of connections with other practitioners around the country. She is co-Chair of the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Litigation Section and a member of the DRI (Defense Research Institute) Litigation Skills Steering Committee.

Outside of work, Siobhan is active in her community through volunteering and providing pro bono legal services. She lives in Iowa City with her husband, Chris, and their rescued dog, Milo.
