Legal Assistant

We are looking for a dependable, organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. This is an in-person position that provides administrative and legal support to our attorneys and staff in a professional, collaborative, and fast-paced office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and other office staff.
  • Assist with day-to-day organization and management of attorney calendars and schedules.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, scan, copy, file, and electronically file legal documents.
  • Assist with document organization and maintenance of electronic and paper files.
  • Enter and maintain information accurately in firm systems and databases.
  • Prepare correspondence, mailings, and other routine documents.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and provide professional and courteous assistance to clients and visitors.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments, and other office logistics.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, email, and other communications.
  • Assist with filing deadlines and other time-sensitive administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information.
  • Perform general office and administrative duties as needed.
  • Provide backup support to other members of the office when needed.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a professional office environment is preferred; legal office experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Strong follow-through and the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a cooperative member of a small team.
  • Professional, courteous, and client-service-oriented demeanor.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to learn new software, systems, and procedures quickly.
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment is preferred.
