Benjamin G. Nielson is an attorney at Pugh Hagan Prahm PLC. Benjamin maintains a broad commercial practice with a focus on commercial litigation, arbitration, and creditor/debtor relations. He represents both individuals and business enterprises, together with national and community banks, credit unions, and other financial service providers in a wide range of commercial disputes including large-scale contract, fraud, and business tort litigation, as well as the enforcement of asset-based loan agreements. His work frequently involves the pursuit of judicial enforcement proceedings such as prosecuting and defending commercial claims arising out of joint ventures, secured transactions, and business acquisitions, as well as the negotiation and preparation of workout and forbearance agreements.

In addition, Benjamin served for several years as a bankruptcy case trustee, administering Chapter 7 cases for the benefit of creditors and other stakeholders. His bankruptcy practice continues to include the representation of financial institutions, business creditors, and bankruptcy trustees in the full spectrum of bankruptcy-related matters, including relief from stay, cash collateral disputes, plan objections, nondischargeability litigation, fraudulent transfer and preference actions, and bankruptcy asset sales.

Benjamin lives in Iowa city with his wife and daughters and in his free time enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors, often running with his dog or playing golf.
